Mysterious Ticking Award

For those brave few who have gone to the bottom of this blog page, you have been rewarded with a very hilarious You Tube video called The Mysterious Ticking Noise. It has Harry Potter characters in it, but it really has nothing to do with Harry Potter at all.
It is a just a seriously catchy tune!
There are several versions. the song is always the same, but some videos have lego characters, some have it acted out by Potter Puppet Pals (simply animated Harry Potter characters), and mine is just a series of photos really.
Well, the video has won a You Tube award for comedy!!
Click HERE to read the article, but also read the comments! One person said they had their choir teacher play it in class!!! HAHA!
Well, that deserves another watching...se ya!

Walk Hard, The Dewey Cox Story

A few nights ago, John and I saw Walk Hard.

It is a spoof of Walk the Line. I think I was the only one in the theater that had seen Walk the Line, because I was practically rolling on the floor with laughter at the jokes which seemed to go over everyone else's heads. Even John's. He has not seen that movie either, so he kept asking me why things were funny. It is a very silly, Will Farrel-type movie.

It stars the actor who played the best friend (Cal) in Talladega Nights. He was hilarious in both movies. But he also sang quite a bit in Walk Hard, which is not surprising since he also played Roxi's hubby in Chicago and sang the very heartbreaking solo, Mister Cellophane.

I thought the funniest scene of the movie by far was when Dewey (main character) goes to India and meets the Beatles. They are obviously during their phase of loathing eachother.
So they are at eachother's throats. It is so hilarious!!!
The best line from that scene is when John Lennon asks Paul McCartney (played by Jack Black of all people),
"I wonder if your songs will still be shit when I am sixty-four!"

Waste Your Wednesday

If you want to waste 15 minutes watch this video twice. If you want to waste your whole Wendesday (and maybe Thursday), duplicate it.

He sets up dominos, then lets them fall, but notice how he has to keep leaving spaces every so often, because he keeps accidently setting them off.

How hard!

Be sure to watch it to the end. 'Cause it ain't over till the kitty meows.

Oh, and turn up the volume. The Camera work is shakey, but with the music, it makes more sense.

Flamenco Dancing

FALMENCO is both a style of dance and a style of music. There are 2 major types. One is more or less faster and the other is more or less slower. It sort of reminds me of bellydancing (especially the hand work) mixed with tapdancing. I am sure I simplifying this to the n'th degree, but I am still learning about it.

Looking for some examples, these were the best I could find. The film is a bit grainy, but the dancing is very fun.

This is a guy dancing Flamenco. You can really see the passion in his dance.

This is a woman dancer. You won't believe what all she can do in a dress with such a long train!!

Like I said, these were the best I could find. If you see something better, let me know, and I will post it.

Thank You Ducks for the Send-Off of Champs!

John, Nima, Moo, and I would like to thank the Anaheim Ducks for getting the job done last season.

Knowing that we were goingto Spain, and watching as much hockey as I was last season, and knowing there would be none of that in Espana, I got down on my knees and asked the hockey gods for the Ducks to win the last whole season that I would see them in.
I watched almost every game either in person (a couple times) or on TV. And I would do it with my new jersey John got me for last Halloween, my lucky marble in my pocket (usually only reserved for public speaking, flying, and test days), and my list of players that I kept a running tab of notes on throughout the season. In the end, I had to put it in a page protector, because it was so "loved", it was feeling more like cloth than paper.
Well, as you know (I sure hope you do), they won the Stanley Cup. If you don't know that is like the winning the Superbowl. SO no matter what happens this season, I leave the country with the Ducks as winners!!
